Mingus in the Morning

It is always hard to get going on Monday morning, especially after having such a great weekend (more on that later). However, in our bi-monthly student run assembly this morning, we were treated to the poetry of Quintin Prout, from his book Nobe's Kitchen. He started off by reading some of his poems, dedicated to Coltrane and Mingus, and then went on to read work about dyslexia and his family. The highlight of the performance for me was when one of my students played sax while Prout read his poem dedicated to Coltrane.
